That's so disappointing about the rats but the plant pulled through and still gave you some flowers. It looks like there's a new growth starting at the base of the plant so fingers crossed the rats will have moved on by the next time it blooms. I found the second growth grew a lot faster than the first on mine and now the third growth is growing quickly too. I hope yours will do the same and you'll see it back in bloom next year at this time.
Is yours a 'Super Clone' from Sam?

Congratulations!!!!! I bet it’ll be a real showstopper once you kill your neighbors. Make sure I’m on the jury.

Seriously, how did your neighbors “bring” rats? Are they just slobs? Or are these escaped pets?

Super looking flowers and plant -- kudos on your cultural skills.

About the rats... Release some adult rat snakes in the basement. That might encourage the neighbors to move. Excellent at rat removal and being quite feisty they make a strong impression on people even though they are quite harmless.

Lol. Creature wars.
I find rat traps to be... simpler 😂 And less endangerment to perfectly good snakes.
