I suspect your plant is S. acuensis(aka S. coccinea var. acuensis), which is a far more vigorous grower and bloomer. The leaf of a typical coccinea has a purple line right in the middle while acuensis has plain green leaf.

Thanks Tom. This is definitely coccinea. It does have the purple line down the leaf. It's less apparent when the plant is grown in more shade but it's there. S. acuensis tends to have purple blotches under the leaf from what I understand. I've been after one for ages!

Mike, before I sold my collection , I had a S. acuensis. It was a smaller plant with smaller flower...however I don't remember mine had purple blotches under the leaf. It was a far better grower and bloomer than my two S. coccinea. My S. acuensis multiplied "like weeds" and it had outgrown the 4" pot in less than four years. It came from Floralia Orquidarios Reunidos(Brazil). I hope you will find one someday. It is a great species to have in any collection.
Your coccinea is truly a wonderful specimen. Great accomplishment for sure.
