This is paph Sebastien Delmarche (helenae x purpuratum) registered by Belgian nursery l'Amazone in 2011.
I like this paph not because it will make history (because like other purpuratum hybrids it won't)
but rather because it's a good illustration of hybridizing: it has the size and downward petals of helenae, the color and reflexed dorsal of purpuratum.
In the end you get a pretty f**k*d up thing, but I like it.

The color and shine are very nice, and the pre-reflex picture shows the potential of this type of cross. And if you find the reflexed dorsal so objectionable, you should't be making or buying purpuratum primary crosses. Why would you expect anything else in the first generation?

That bloody red pouch is outstanding. I'm not crazy about the cupped back petals. The faults came be bred out but the trick would be to keep the color in the process.

It looks pretty good. I like the colors. Perhaps cross back to helenae or self it to try get a better dorsal?

The dorsal will not improve (if flat is an improvement) by crossing it back or selfing it. Most outcome of helenae has a reflext dorsal and narrow petals. Same here.
