That's about what mine last. The plant is really beautiful when it's covered in masses of those jewel-like flowers; but, lasting only 7 - 10 days is a bit disappointing. Of course, it doesn't take up much room; but, how great would it be if the blooms lasted a month?! I tend to avoid plants that bloom just once a year for just a week or so. If the blooms last a long time; or, if the (short-lived), flowers appear throughout the year, I am happy; but, short-lived blooms, only once a year......bummer. However, this species is small and so beautiful, I will always have one, I think. They make awesome photographs. 'Guess I need to frame a nice photo so that I have more time to look and enjoy!

Interesting -- I have similar goals. But there are a few exceptions. Especially if they are pleasantly fragrant or bloom more than once a year.
