Four growing robins on the top corner of my porch. Not the best picture but i'ts fun to wath them with their mouths open when a parent flies in with a tasty worm.
The nest isn't big enough for them all.
Soon, they'll draw straws, for odd man out.
Two. That is how big she builds the nest. Almost looks planned that way.
I went through this in May. Next time, I will discard nest right from beginning.
I just noticed a robin sitting in her nest on a branch overhanging my wheelchair path. Since it's near the blueberries, which I visit frequently, she gives me the stink eye every time I pass!
The neighbor's kids keep throwing their frisbees up at the nest of Purple Martins under the edge of the carport. They've no respect for wildlife. I find myself wishing for a Hitchcockian Birds moment from time to time.
You're right guys. I saw them stand on their legs for the first time this morning and they don't have a full extended red breast like Robins. I should have known, the flying prowess to get there is more like that of a swallow. Now I believe they are barn swallows. And their nest in my bird book is exactly like that in the photo. Good catch!
