    Bulbo. Jim Clarkson x carunculatum

Thanks! :) alas it's fragrance free. I'm very desapointed as I've never had the pleasure of smelling a nice pungent bulbo. lol

    Please help my kovachii...

OMG! It works! I feel so dumb.. :o Last spring I placed this plant near the center of the growing table and when the spike started growing it was going away from the light. So when the flower opened horizontally I thought that maybe since the colour washes away fast, it was a way to protect...

One more ID, one more mislabelled plant

Well, I guess you have your answer. :) And I'm beginning to question my Fritz Schomburg (made with besseae flavum) The flower is exactly the same colour has my Cirila Alca, execp that it's smaller. Well, maybe that besseae flavum is in fact dalessandroi flavum. That would explain the...

    Chou-Yi Wench 2016

Well, it might be my nose, but I find that it has a faint vanilla fragrance.. with a hint of moss...lol It's a 4" square pot (well, 4" for the top and 3.5" at the bottom) the blooming plant as a 9" LS But it first bloomed on a plant with a 5" LS. So yours might be blooming size.

    Please help my kovachii...

Only the flower? I tried to move it and it didn't want to. I was thinking, since it's growing on cliffs almost vertically, the flower is naturally looking downards maybe?

    Peruflora's Angel

Thanks for the nice comments :) I had one also from Peruflora and the plant was half the size of this one when it bloomed. So, yours might flower sooner than later. Give it a lot of light. I'm in Canada :)

    Cahaba Morning Mist

I think that mine came from Piping Rock Orchids. You might ask Glen to see if he still has some. But, I bought it a few years ago. I sold it because it had to much colour... :o

    Cahaba Morning Mist

Georgette Marcoux is really not a big plant. Yours might be closer to blooming size than you think. :) 3" pot

    Chou-Yi Wench 2016

It's fragrant with that brachy perfume that you don't like very much ;)

    Please help my kovachii...

find one of it's contact lenses or something. It seems to be on the floor. :rollhappy: I mean seriously, will I ever get a decent kovachii flower? *sigh* Still opening, but it seems that the flower won't stand up for some reason. Too much light maybe ?

    Chou-Yi Wench 2016

lol. So true. Only changing Wench for Wensh (nod to one of it's parent) would make all the difference. Not the AOS but the RHS.

    Chou-Yi Wench 2016

(wenshanense x hangianum) Here's the second blooming for this plant. I grow it in my basement under LED lights year round. Potted in a simple mix of CHC and coarse perlite. I mostly use this mix because under my conditions, the media doesn't dry as fast as I would like. During the growing...

    Bulbo. Jim Clarkson x carunculatum

First blooming on this Bulbophyllum that I bought two years ago from Cloud's Orchids. I was about to toss it because I needed the space and I'm glad that I waited. I'm totally in love with it !! :smitten: But it still will be the only bulbo I'll be growing.... for now ;)

    Peruflora's Angel

richteri x kovachii It took two years for this plant to rebloom and the flower is pretty much the same as the first time. Still unsure if I'm going to keep it or not. I'll decide on the next flowering. :p For some reason I always thought that this cross would be very similar to the Peter...

    Triploid Frank Smith Expectations??

I thought that the first batch of this cross all originated from the same place and were all triploids. ??? Anyway, here's a pic of the first bloom on my Phrag. Frank Smith 3N The shape is poor but the flower is huuuge. It was a little bit over three years ago.... I'm still waiting for it to...

One more ID, one more mislabelled plant

I was looking at some pictures of my Cirila Alca and Fritz (made with besseae flavum) and I notice that on the Fritz there's a little dent on the rim of the pouch like yours that is not present on the Cirila (the rim is round and flat). Maybe, it could be a better way to differentiate the two of...
