Who says that Trader Joes doesn't have nice plants at a great price?? I paid 16.99 each with a beautiful pots.

Yep, but I pay 12.99 per an orchid plant at TJ.
Phalaenopsis come in larger pots and are sold for 20 or something like that.

I love their miltoniopsis!
It seems like a peak season at the moment.
8 spikes is impressive!
I think they are more like 4-5. Still great value!

Bottom one is White Truffle 'Bright Eyes', a beautiful and common mericlone.

I thought that named variety had a different waterfall pattern. Thicker and not as refined.

It might be a different cultivar of the same hybrid?
Then again, I once saw two different Miltoniopsis that looked almost the same but with different names. I almost thought they were mislabeled. lol

Beautiful regardless of the name, and yes, they do smell wonderful. my favorite flower scent!

Beautiful - how can the grower possibly make money at those prices?

The only people who make money at these are the huge orchid mills in Cali and Florida. But with Trader Joe's, they have been known to sucker some small unsuspecting grower into a contract and the grower ends up either breaking even or losing money

The providers are Matsui (sp?) orchids and I believe they now have a new facility in the east coast ( NJ I think?).
Yes, they are large scale operation, so this is still profitable with cheap mericlones.

I have bought many nice orchids at $12.99 at Trader Joe's over the years.
